Lewis Capaldi sheds light on the challenges of stardom in his documentary

Brooke Shields’ youngest daughter cried a lot watching the actress’ new documentary which reveals how she was raped in her twenties – before refusing to finish the film.

The ‘Blue Lagoon’ actress, 57, who has daughters Rowan, 19, and Grier, 16, with husband Chris Henchy, 59, said her eldest was better able to handle the content of the two-part film ‘Pretty Baby’, but that her sister “didn’t feel prepared” for the horrors it contained.

Brooke, who took her daughters to the New York premiere of the Disney+ documentary series, told Glamor magazine editor Samantha Barry during a post-screening panel discussion about Grier’s emotional reaction , who was upset: “There were a lot of tears. She had a very strong reaction at the start and couldn’t finish the movie, to be honest. »

Brooke also shared how she survived the rape and exploitation she suffered by “compartmentalising” the trauma before finally finding her “voice”.

She added: “I had never seen my life in its entirety, from beginning to end. I’m a very good human being at compartmentalizing, and that’s how I think I stayed alive. Watching all of this, watching this little girl progress and seeing how her voice has changed, you know there’s really something… I’m so proud to have found my voice. You can hear my voice. I’m proud of all the work I’ve done. I’m proud to have come this far. »
