Levits: Strict restrictions on non-Covid-19 unvaccinated should be maintained after the end of the session

After the end of the session, strict restrictions on the unvaccinated must be maintained, President Egils Levits emphasized on the microblogging site “Twitter”.

At the same time, the State’s first person notes that Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš’s (JV) proposal to impose vaccination on people over the age of 50, who make up the majority of Covid-19 patients in hospitals, should be seriously considered, linking it to the availability of certain services.

According to Levita, people over the age of 50 should be invited to get vaccinated, including by offering vaccinations at home.

He also emphasized the need for a household session, although people who have been vaccinated in the performance of their duties to themselves and the public should also suffer unjustifiably.

As reported, it is planned that from Thursday, October 21, for four weeks or until November 15, especially strict restrictions on Covid-19 or the strict “bow down” will come into force in Latvia. As the Minister of Health Daniels Pavļuts (AP) informed after the meeting of the Crisis Management Council on Monday, during this period all stores, except for basic necessities, will not work and only the most necessary services will be available. It is also planned to introduce a home session from 8 pm to 5 am.

The new, particularly stringent security measures in the emergency order have yet to be approved by the government, which is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, October 20th.
