Levi’s Stadium to Host Super Bowl and World Cup Matches in 2026, NFL Announces

After the Super Bowl 50 in 2016, the 60th edition of the San Francisco 49ers will also take place at Levi’s Stadium. This was announced by the US professional football league NFL.

In 2026, the Super Bowl LX will be played for the second time in the 68,500-seat arena in Santa Clara.

This is the first time that both World Cup matches and the final spectacle of the NFL will be played in the same stadium in the same year. Levi’s Stadium is one of 16 venues for the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

At Super Bowl 50 seven years ago, Peyton Manning led the Denver Broncos to a 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers, after which the star quarterback resigned.

“The Bay Area was an incredible host to Super Bowl 50 and we’re excited to bring the Super Bowl back,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The Super Bowl will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in 2024 and in New Orleans in 2025.
