They’ve done it again. Bayer Leverkusen have played another match without losing.

When Die Werkself visited Bochum on Sunday night, they completely pulverized the opposition and extended their unbeaten streak to 50 (!) games in a row without losing.

But there were extenuating circumstances for Bochum. After just 15 minutes, right-back Felix Passlack was shown the red card, which meant that Bochum had to face the reigning Bundesliga champions with one less man on the pitch for 75 minutes.

Then it was impossible to resist.

Patrick Schick and Victor Boniface made Leverkusen 1-0 and 2-0 up before the half-time break, and in the final quarter Amine Adli, Josip Stanisic and Alex Grimaldo netted – making the final score 5-0.

The win was Leverkusen’s 27th in 33 games in the Bundesliga this season. Now only three games remain to go an entire season without losing; Augsburg in the Bundesliga, Atalanta in the Europa League final and Kaiserslautern in the German Cup final.
