A joint call by the CDU and BSW for an end to the war in Ukraine will probably become an empty phrase in the coalition agreement, even though the BSW has experienced soldiers in its ranks. These included Stefan Wogawa, a former NVA officer, and Tilo Kummer, a temporary non-commissioned officer in the Feliks Dzierzynski Berlin Guard Regiment, which belonged to the Ministry for State Security.
The BSW parliamentary group in the Thuringian state parliament also wants that Corona processing advance. To this end, she and four CDU MPs submitted an application for a committee of inquiry to examine the pandemic. Seriously, what will come of this? Katja Wolf, like many of her CDU and SPD district administrator colleagues, was responsible for the implementation of the illegal Corona measures. In addition to school closings and other illegal orders, demonstrations against Corona measures were also banned and fines were ordered. Does anyone seriously believe that the BSW and the CDU are questioning their own actions here?
Ending the war in Ukraine is a legitimate demand, but it will not be possible to implement it with warmongers within the CDU and SPD. I do not hope that Sahra Wagenknecht’s justified criticisms will be lost with the formation of governments in Thuringia, Saxony and Brandenburg. It will soon become clear whether the BSW, as a “Trojan horse” in the spectrum of power, has taken on the role of the “left” and thus fulfills the CDU’s fundamental decision to form coalitions and “similar forms of cooperation” with the left rejects. That would be a disservice to our democracy because it would eliminate another political alternative for many voters.
Dear BSW, opposition is important these days! Because it stands for a view that goes against government policies and prevailing opinions.
