In Altdorf for the whole canton of Uri
To vote on the loan request for the renovation of the Uri Theater from March 12th.
For example, if the Uri Theater were to be in Realp, apart from the location and accessibility, it would also be very difficult financially to keep this house going. A small community could not afford the yearly maintenance of such an operation.
Thank God the Theater Uri is in Altdorf, the capital of the canton of Uri, which now has almost 10,000 inhabitants. It is also owned by the municipality of Altdorf, and the municipality is willing to keep the Theater Uri and therefore to renovate it. Since this house radiates far beyond the canton capital and its importance for culture and events for the entire canton cannot be emphasized enough, it is also crystal clear to me that the canton of Uri will make a financial contribution to the upcoming and necessary renovation of the theatre Uri performs. The canton of Uri and the municipality of Altdorf are linked for better or for worse: Only if the canton agrees to the contribution of 3.89 million francs and the voters of the municipality of Altdorf also successfully approve the total loan of 7.78 million francs the renovation reality.
So next Sunday I agree with conviction to this loan request, combined with the hope that this proposal will also find the majority of all Uri residents and especially the Altdorf residents.
