The Internet provider Bahnhof keeps track of the number of letters of claim sent to file sharers, or rather how many applications for information injunctions are sent from copyright holders to the Patent and Market Court. With these, copyright holders request information about people who are alleged to have shared files.
These applications have decreased significantly during the year. Last year, 92 applications were sent, while only 28 have been sent so far this year. A substantial reduction, even if the year is not over yet.

Bahnhof cannot point to any exact reason, but a probable contributing factor to the reduction is that the company behind most letters of demand in Sweden, Njord Law Firm, has been prosecuted for gross fraud in Denmark.
