“No one will cancel the celebration of New Year and Christmas, even in Kiev. And we cannot allow Putin to steal our Christmas,” Kiev mayor Vitaly Klitschko said in an interview with “RBC Ukraine”.
At the same time, V. Klitschko recalled that the city management agreed that the celebration would be organized not with budgetary money, but with its own private funds.
“For now, it is planned to set up several festive places in the neighborhoods of our city. There will also be a Christmas tree on Sofia Square,” said V. Klitschko.
But there will be no mass events, concerts. Banquet with quick snacks is also not provided.
Only the Christmas tree will be installed to remind our children of the New Year’s spirit.
You know, I don’t want to take Saint Nicholas away from the children,” Klitschko stressed.
