Let’s Move at Burck Association: Breaking Isolation and Building Community in Mérignac

L’association « Let’s move… at Burck » shook up life in this district of Mérignac. With 160 members, it offers numerous activities with one objective: to break isolation and increase meetings between residents.

Three co-presidents share the governance of “ Let’s move… at Burck », Catherine Jeanningros, Annick Pinaud and Eliane Paquereau. Women make up 80% of the association’s members even if men have their place. Seventeen weekly activities are offered such as gym, stretching, Pilates but also yoga and dance. A dynamism that delights Tine Andersen, coordinator of the structure.

« Social bonds and social diversity are at the heart of our associative project. »

Le Burck, a district designated as a “watch territory” within the framework of the city policy implemented by the State, benefits from the commitment of its residents to the service of better living together.

« Let’s move » benefited from substantial subsidies from the Department for three years. “ In fact, when we give everyone the opportunity to contribute, resources and mutual assistance emerge. »
