“Let’s go up to the podium”: Duplantis’ prophetic message to Karalis (Photos) – 2024-08-08 04:31:05

The winning of the bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games is celebrated by Emmanuel Karalis, who made history on Monday night.

The athlete threw over 5.90m in his pole vault final, with next to him in the medals American Sam Kendrickswho won the silver, and the space Swede Armand Duplantis which took off at 6.25m setting a world record.

The message Dublandis had sent him

In his last post, Emmanuel Karalis published a photo where he poses smiling with his fellow athletes.

In the second photo she revealed a conversation she had with Dublandis, who seems to have predicted they would make the Olympic podium.

“Your jump looks perfect. Let’s go up to the podium”, he had written to him.

In fact, it is not the first time that the two athletes are together on the podium.

Karalis and Duplantis are connected by a long presence in the pole vault finals, from the small age groups. They are separated by only twenty days (20/10/1999 “Manolo” was born, 10/11/1999 “Mondo”), starting from their teenage years their joint presence on the podium.

The photo taken 9 years ago, at the World Youth Championship in Colombia in July 2015, is indicative. In the photo we see Armand Duplantis (in the middle) and next to him Emmanuel Karalis smiling together with Vladislav Malikin, on the podium for winning the gold and bronze medals respectively.

Almost a decade later, on the “big stage” of the Olympic Games, the two lived side by side in the grand final.

“Do not believe”

“Manolo” shared his joy with his followers on Instagram, where he made a series of posts, dedicated to the bronze medal he won by jumping 5.90 m.

His first post was a video of his medal-winning effort, with the caption ‘WHAT JUST JUST HAPPENED’, before he uploaded a series of photos with his family and coach, writing ‘I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’.
