The 2022 edition of the Festival of Lights started on Thursday evening, December 8th. Kick-off at 20.00 These are four festive evenings to admire new, unusual or spectacular creations. The first evening was successful despite the cold.

Singing paintings, a fantastic and colorful garden, a cathedral adorned with light, digital cats, a giant aviary… the Festival of Lights is renewed every yearbetween poetry and technical performances.

Lyon lights up for four evenings. The opportunity for tourists and Lyonnais to admire the traditional facades and illuminated monuments throughout the city. 30 sites have been chosen to host these spectacular light installations. Among the creators, 17 artists are participating in the event for the first time. New places join this end of year partyyear such as the Jardin de l’Institut Lumière, the Manufacture des Tabacs or the Place Voltaire, in the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon.

One more hour to enjoy it on Saturday

Faced with the popular success of the first evening of the Festival of Lights, the schedules for the evening of Saturday 10 December are adapted by the City of Lyon, in agreement with the Prefecture of the Rhône, indicates the city of Lyon in a press release this Friday 9 December .
“To take full advantage of the festivities, the art fixtures will launch one hour early, from 7pm, and finish at midnight,” explains the city of Lyon.

The definition of the perimeter of the Festival of Lights will be brought forward to 5.45 pm (access to car parks, roads, etc.). TCL and the emergency and safety services are adapting. All Festival venues are affected, with the exception of the Sergent Blandan park and the garden of the Institut Lumière whose hours remain unchanged (from 17:30 to 21:30), adds the city.
