In 2021, RTL will broadcast a new season of its successful “Let’s Dance” format. Here you can find all the information about the candidates, professional dancers and broadcast dates.
Who is dancing with whom?
The candidates and the professional dancers experience this in the new season’s introductory show. Who dances with whom is determined by the creators of the show. There is one exception: the winner of last year’s professional challenge can choose his dance partner from among the celebrities. In 2020 Christina Luft and Christian Polanc won the professional challenge. However, only one of the two can choose his partner. The lot falls on Christian, he can vote and decides for Lola Weippert. She didn’t get the most points from the jury (that was Valentina Pahde with 21 points), but he sees great potential in her. The last place in terms of jury points was shared by Kai Ebel and Mickie Krause with nine points in the introductory show. According to the jury’s judgment and audience voting, Rurik Gislason is in first place. He and his dance partner cannot be eliminated in the first regular episode.

Who are the contestants in season 14?
“Mr. Tagesschau”, a reporter legend and Barack Obama’s sister: RTL is coming up with big names again this year. Jan Hofer, who retired as a newscaster at the end of last year, will be there. After RTL’s exit from Formula 1, Kai Ebel also left his long-term reporter job for the time being and is now dancing with “Let’s Dance”. Meanwhile, “Prince Charming” Nicolas Puschmann is making a premiere: he dances with a man. Previously there was an all-female dance couple in the German edition.

Who is the favorite and wins “Let’s Dance”?
Juror Joachim Llambi had an interview with prism set to three possible favorites. “Valentina Pahde will definitely be someone who has a good talent and who will go far,” said Llambi. He also has a lot of confidence in “Prince Charming” Nicolas Puschmann. “I think that the new thing, that two men dance together, will surprise him. But I also believe that he can move and has a good feeling for music.” And as a third favorite he has the “eye-catcher” of the season, ex-soccer player Rurik Gislason, on the screen. On the other hand, the expert is less convinced of Kai Ebel. “He doesn’t exactly look like Baryshnikov and Nureyev rolled into one. I think this will be someone who will cause a few laughs. Much like Mickie Krause.” The coming weeks will show whether he is right with his predictions.

Who are the professional dancers?
Four new dancers make their “Let’s Dance” debut in the 14th season. Alexandru Ionel, Malika Dzumaev, Pasha Zvychaynyy and Patricija Belousova are the new faces in the line-up of professional dancers. “Let’s Dance” veteran Massimo Sinató is not there. Thus, the winner of last year’s season does not defend his title again. Massimo Sinató and his wife Rebecca I will become parents, which may be one of the reasons for his absence. Erich Klann is not there either, his farewell sounds final. The crowd favorite Ekaterina Leonova is also missing this year. In addition, Isabel Edvardsson is not there, she is expecting her second child in spring. Since Nicolas Puschmann dances with a man, there are eight dancers and only six female dancers.

The broadcast dates of “Let’s Dance” 2021
The starting signal for the new season will be given on February 26th with the “introductory show”. Then RTL broadcasts twelve more episodes, week after week the question is “Who is out? Who is next?”. Since “Let’s Dance” is broadcast live on a Friday evening, the following broadcast dates result from this – subject to short-term program changes. A break can only be expected on Good Friday (April 2, 2021). The final is expected to be broadcast on May 21, 2021.

Who are the Season 14 presenters?
Victoria Swarovski and Daniel Hartwich will again form the moderator duo. Hartwich has been the presenter on “Let’s Dance” since 2010. As the successor to Hape Kerkeling, he has already moderated with Nazan Eckes, Sylvie Meis and, since 2018, with Swarovski. Victoria Swarovski was the 2016 “Let’s Dance” winner at Erich Klann’s side before she became a presenter on the RTL show in 2018.
Who is on the “Let’s Dance” jury?
For the “Let’s Dance” jury, RTL relies on the team that has been tried and tested for years. The former professional dancer Motsi Mabuse, the long-time judge Joachim Llambi and the eccentric choreographer Jorge Gonzalez evaluate the performance of the dance couples. Who are the previous “Let’s Dance” winners?
The RTL show has produced 13 winners so far. Wayne Carpendale won the first season together with professional dancer Isabel Edvardsson. This was followed by a number of celebrity women as “Let’s Dance” winners: Susan Sideropoulos (2007), Sophia Thomalla (2010), Maite Kelly (2011) and Magdalena Brzeska (2012). After that, with the exception of Victoria Swarovski (2015), one man always won in seven other seasons. In 2020 Lili Paul-Roncalli broke this curse and won “Let’s Dance” together with Massimo Sinató boi. Luck in “Let’s Dance”, Glücl in love: The reigning “Let’s Dance” winner recently landed in the headlines through her relationship with Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem. Is “Let’s Dance” a live show?
Indeed, “Let’s Dance” is broadcast live from a studio in Cologne-Ossendorf. Since viewers can vote on who will drop out at the end of a program, it is not possible to broadcast a recording. It happens that “Let’s Dance” overshoots and the following programs begin with a delay.
Why are only cover versions played on “Let’s Dance”?
There is a simple reason for this: the rhythm. Because often the beat for a dance has to be specially adapted, especially with pop songs that were not specially composed for standard and Latin dances. The only exceptions are the contemporary dances, for which there are no specifications for the beat. That’s why you can sometimes hear original versions of the songs here.
Will there also be a “Let’s Dance” tour in 2021?
In 2019 “Let’s Dance” went on tour for the first time. In November and December professional dancers and celebrities performed in the halls and arenas of various cities in Germany. The “Let’s Dance” stars wanted to tour Germany again in 2020, but the corona pandemic made this impossible. The “Let’s Dance” tour will now be rescheduled for November and December 2021, tickets for the 2020 tour will remain valid.
