Speaking of earrings, there is a little mystery around them. The Princess paired with the tweed suit of the earrings in gold and brilliantsborrowed from Letizia who wore them for the first time in 2014 at the same event. So, the real-world experts thought it was a tribute to her mother. But at some point she replaced them with another pair, a gold and black double lobe hoop.
The mystery of this change has not been understood. It was thought that Leonor was wrong, that the diamond earrings were for the gala evening and therefore she decided to replace them on the fly to leave them to the most elegant look. But then she showed up at the award ceremony with those in the shape of a palm tree.
