Letitia Wright not the ‘Black Panther’ successor because of controversial statements?

Black Panther was a great success, but director Ryan Coogler needed a lot of extra time to adjust the script for the second part after the tragic death of lead actor Chadwick Boseman. Most likely will Letitia Wright take over, but a new report could throw a spanner in the works.

For example, there is a story that there are quite a few actors who express anti-vaccination views on the sets. Wright is also mentioned in this. Production was previously halted for the actress after she was injured after a stunt, but now it is being reassessed how to proceed.

The Hollywood Reporter was the first to come out with the article, which states that several film talents are against the vaccination and also make this clear during the filming and on the film sets. A source of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has therefore announced that the actress is strongly against all COVID-19 restrictions in Atalanta, where the filming is currently taking place.

However, it is not reported whether or not the actress has been vaccinated, but the way she expresses herself about the whole situation already seems to answer this question. This is not the first time she has spoken negatively about the policy regarding the pandemic. Late last year, he posted another controversial anti-vaccination video on social media. However, she received so much criticism that she deleted her account.

Issues?
The question now is, of course, whether this will have any consequences. Several film productions have been shut down for a long time because of people who got COVID or did not comply with the measures (for example, think about Tom Cruise’s rant on the set of Mission Impossible on Sean Penn who recently stated that he did not want to work with people who do not have themselves vaccinated).

Other celebrities are against it. So also Whiplash-ster Miles Teller, whose movie The Offer had to be shut down when he refused to be vaccinated. The Hollywood Reporter also reports that Disney will require vaccinations for their productions in the hopes of operating under safer conditions, although this would not apply to recordings that have already started.

After Boseman passed away last year, Wright’s character Shuri was dubbed the perfect successor. Many movie fans were very impressed by T’Challa’s younger sister and would like to see her follow in his footsteps (something that happens in the comics), but maybe this will become a bit more difficult now. Only time will tell what the future holds for the Black Panther franchise. The second part will normally be shown next summer.
