Letitia James bluntly expresses expressions of former Governor Cuomo – NBC New York (47)

State Attorney General Letitia James responded Thursday to former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s attacks on the report his office released in August that prompted the former president to resign.

“I will not be bullied,” James said bluntly in her fiery speech at the New York State Democratic Convention, which was held Thursday at the Sheraton Times Square Hotel in Manhattan.

“It has become clear that the former governor will never accept any version of these events that is not his own. To achieve that, he now reclaims the role of the victim,” he added.

The Attorney General’s investigation found that Cuomo sexually harassed at least 11 women, leading to his resignation. However, the former governor denied the accusations, calling the report a political hatchet job.

Cuomo has said he was “vindicated” in his crusade against indictments over decisions by five New York district attorneys not to file criminal charges against him.

Cuomo’s spokesman, Rich Azzopardi, issued a statement in response to James’ speech, calling her a “serial liar” and responsible for a “false report.”

“She abused her position as a springboard for her own failed bid for governor,” Azzopardi said.

But a state Assembly report released in November bolsters James’s findings, saying the evidence of Cuomo’s sexual misconduct was “overwhelming.” Furthermore, the prosecutors who declined to charge Cuomo agreed that the accusations against him were “credible.”

James on Thursday accused Cuomo of “attacking anyone in his path, pushing others to support himself.”
