Let the “Leopards” burn: the West is waiting for the failure of the Ukrainian offensive, but there is a plan “B” –

/ world today news/ Inflaming the war in Ukraine to the last Ukrainian by strengthening NATO’s tank fist against Russia – this is perhaps one of the main results of the meeting of the contact group for Ukraine at the German military base in Ramstein.

Multi-move

The strengthening of NATO’s tank fist against Russia was perhaps one of the main results of the meeting on Friday, April 21, at the German air base in Ramstein of the Contact Group on Ukraine, which includes 50 countries coordinating their military aid to the Kiev regime.

Undoubtedly, this meeting became part of the overall preparation of the collective West for the widely announced counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ramstein meeting, widely reported in the Western media, pursued two goals equally: firstly, to have a moral and psychological impact on Russia, and in particular on our troops in the SVO zone, to suppress our offensive spirit, and secondly, to stimulate the regime in Kiev to this doomed action.

As noted by the Polish press, the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive was programmed as part of a long-term plan to dismember Ukraine and transfer its western regions to Poland. Thus, the counter-offensive of the armed forces of Ukraine is planned to be carried out regardless of his sad predictions.

Inextricably linked to the Ramstein meeting, one more element of the prelude to the “counter-offensive” must be considered. These are the large-scale Defender-23 military maneuvers that began today, April 22, involving about 9,000 US troops and about 17,000 military personnel from 26 NATO allies and partners.

About 7,000 units of equipment have been sent to the European theater of operations by the United States. During Defender-23, about 13 thousand units of equipment assembled from pre-prepared European stocks are used.

These exercises are conducted both in case of success of the Ukrainian counter-offensive and in case of defeat of the armed forces of Ukraine. They are something like an air cushion for the Kyiv regime.

If the failure of the counteroffensive leads to a rapid advance of the Russians to the western borders of Ukraine, the forces participating in Defender-23 can be introduced into Western Ukraine under the banner of “peacekeepers”, but in fact – save for Poland and, accordingly, NATO , the western territories of “Nezalezhnata”.

Tank fist

In case of success of the counteroffensive of the armed forces of Ukraine, which, we repeat, the West itself does not have much hope, the military equipment that is part of the Defender-23 forces can be quickly transferred to the east of Ukraine to expand this success. And precisely in this case, the current meeting in Ramstein envisages strengthening the so-called “tank coalition” of the West.

Within the framework of the meeting, Germany, Poland and Ukraine signed an agreement to establish an operational center for the repair of Leopard-2 tanks on Polish territory near the border with Ukraine. This repair plant is said to be operational by the end of May.

Berlin, which initially did not want to send its modern tanks to Ukraine, always emphasized that it was not enough to make them available to Kiev. It is also important to provide them with ammunition, spare parts and the entire supply chain that allows for maintenance and repair, as this is an extremely complex war machine.

The decision to establish a repair center in Poland near the border with Ukraine is to remove concerns from Germany. But there is another point. No one now, neither in Germany nor in the West in general, can say how many Leopard-2 tanks will burn in the SVO zone and how quickly the Russians will burn them.

But the very conclusion of an agreement to open a repair center in Poland should serve as a kind of “calm pill” for Kiev to force it to throw into the bloody meat grinder thousands of new citizens drawn into the armed forces of Ukraine from all over the country.

To create the appearance of determination to defeat the Russians, the Ramstein base talks about the far-reaching plans of the West, while none of the active helpers of Ukraine can foresee the development of events even a month ahead. However, it is necessary to create an appearance of confidence.

“We agreed to create a common fund to finance this center because it costs a lot of money,” German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said.

According to him, the work of the repair plant in Poland will cost 150-250 million euros per year. Pistorius said the repair plant “will ensure the rapid repair of the Leopard-2A6 and Leopard-2A4 tank models that have already started arriving in Ukraine” in anticipation of the counter-offensive by Ukraine’s armed forces announced for the spring of this year.

The first 18 German Leopard-2 tanks arrived in Ukraine at the end of March. Poland, Portugal, Spain and Finland, among others, have sent or are preparing to send these war machines from their arsenals.

In parallel, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark have agreed to send to Ukraine at least 100 Leopard-1 tanks – vehicles of the previous generation produced between 1965 and 1985. These are industrial stocks that in many cases have been stored for decades and which the German weapons factories have already begun to restore and bring to working condition.

Americans will cheat as always

In addition, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also announced in Ramstein that Abrams main battle tanks, the US equivalent of Germany’s Leopard-2, would arrive in Europe “in the coming weeks”.

Then Ukrainian soldiers, he said, can begin training to operate these tanks, which, due to their technical complexity, are considered much less suitable for combat operations than the Leopard-2. The training will take place in Germany.

We recall that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for several weeks resisted pressure from the United States asking him for permission to deliver Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine, and asked Washington to send American Abrams tanks to Ukraine in parallel.

So Austin promised to supply Ukraine with 31 Abrams tanks, but warned that “their operation and logistics are much more problematic” than the Leopard-2 tanks.

What does this mean? This could be interpreted to mean that the Americans would first like to see how the Russians would handle the Leopard-2 tanks. And if they all burn, then what’s the point of sending Abrams, which are more difficult to control than Leopard-2? Just throwing money away?

In addition, from Austin’s words, we can conclude that the counteroffensive of the armed forces of Ukraine may begin in the coming weeks or even days. If the German “beasts” do well, the US will say that sending their tanks is no longer relevant. For this understanding, Americans need these “coming weeks.”

The wait-and-see position may also explain the fact that Ramstein once again rejected Ukraine’s request to supply it with NATO’s latest fighter jets.

“Our Tornado and Eurofighter aircraft have completely different capabilities than those that are needed now in the combat situation in Ukraine,” the head of the German Ministry of Defense said after the meeting.

“Ukrainian pilots need planes that can fly now, that can be serviced on the ground using technologies they know,” he said.

So far, Poland and Slovakia have supplied Ukraine with already used Soviet-made MiG-29s, for which Ukrainian pilots do not need special training.

“It is not as easy as exchanging one rental car for another. It will take a long time. Added to that is maintenance and repairs,” insisted the German minister.

In short, the matter is closed, and in the West they think it is too early to talk about heaven. He is waiting for what the Kyiv regime will be able to show on the ground.

It will soon be one year since the first meeting of the contact group on Ukraine organized by the United States to provide military aid to Kiev. The eleventh meeting took place this Friday. In general, it ended without loud statements, the hostages of which, as historical practice shows, are those who make these statements.

Staying largely the same course, the US and other members of this contact group used more subdued rhetoric. Our enemies, announcing the creation of a tank fist, are primarily waiting. They monitor where events will develop and then intend to take next steps.

And the most likely result of the counteroffensive of the armed forces of Ukraine, as we have already said, will be its failure. And the USA and Poland will proceed with the partition of Ukraine, which can be presented under various guises – from “preventing a humanitarian catastrophe” to “recognition of the objective reality”, which will consist in Russia’s control of a significant part of the current Ukrainian territory .
