Garuda Indonesia airline on Sunday (13/2) returned one wide-body Boeing 777-300ER to the lessee or lessor. There are two types of aircraft that will be returned to the lessor.

“The return of the second B777-300ER fleet is planned to be carried out in March 2022,” Irfan said in an official statement as quoted by Antara. detikTravelTuesday (15/2/2022).
According to him, the return of this aircraft is the result of negotiations with the lessor. Irfan said the airline would intensively negotiate with other aircraft lessors.
“Especially with regard to the plan to accelerate the return of the fleet, referring to the applicable legal and compliance aspects,” he said.
Irfan said this negotiation step was in line with the fleet restructuring strategy and the business transformation and performance recovery steps being carried out.
“One of these focuses is through adjusting production equipment to projected market needs in the era of the new normal in accordance with the long-term strategy contained in the company’s business plan going forward,” he added.
Irfan added that the accelerated return of the fleet with the aircraft lessor is also a positive signal for the acceleration of Garuda Indonesia’s performance recovery.
“Furthermore, this step is believed to be a distinct optimism for Garuda Indonesia in the midst of performance recovery steps which are currently also being optimized through the ongoing PKPU process,” he said.
