Volkswagen has started accepting orders from customers who want to buy the new generation Passat. In the German market, the price starts at 44,995 euros.
The latest generation mid-range model is now only available as a station wagon and will be produced not in Germany’s Emden, but in the same place as its platform brother Škoda Superb – at the Bratislava plant in Slovakia.
The new Passat will initially be offered on the market with engines of the 110 kW family (150 hp). In addition to the Passat “Business” 1.5 eTSI (from €44,9953), the entry-level Passat eTSI will soon become available for €39,995.
Both engines are complemented by a 48V mild hybrid drive, which is used for the first time in this model series. There will also be a 110 kW (150 hp) 2.0 TDI (from 48,495 euros) with extensive standard equipment.
