Less short-time work: 200,000 people in full employment again

Minister of Labor Christine Aschbacher (ÖVP) sees Austria on the right track in reducing the number of unemployed and reports a drop in short-time work by 200,000 people. “More and more companies can gradually switch back to normal work,” she said at a joint press conference with Economics Minister Margarete Schramböck (ÖVP). However, 1,161,000 people are still on short-time work, said Aschbacher. Applications for the extension of short-time work have also already been received.
