The Czech Republic is the only one of all four Visegrád states that has not had a female prime minister or president. This means that Poland, Hungary and Slovakia are ahead of the country in terms of equality, at least in this respect. In addition, there is still no equality law in this country. And Poland is the only one of the four Visegrád partners to have ratified the Istanbul Convention. So is gender equality bad in the Czech Republic? This question can also be asked about the local labor market, which presents hurdles for women and especially mothers. So how is the gender pay gap, parental leave, gender quota or better protection against sexual violence discussed in the Czech Republic? This is what the first episode of the second season of “Six Times Czech Republic” is about, which Daniela Honigmann prepared in collaboration with Ivo Vacík.
