“Less is more” – Blizzard’s new motto.

This past weekend we were able to see and enjoy the “Summer Game Fest” event, which brought many news about video games, some of which will come out before the end of 2021 and others that were announced for 2022.

Many of us (yes, El Pergamino too) were glued to the screens to see the development of this event, which represents the prelude to the most popular gaming event: Gamescon, which will take place at the end of August.

As good fans of Blizzard, and especially World of Warcraft, we were waiting for “the big announcement”: the release date of patch 9.1.
But it was not like that. The only thing that the company announced were two skins (appearances) for the Overwatch 2 game. We can say that it was a great disappointment.
Immediately afterwards, the Internet (especially Tuiter) was filled with thousands of memes about this fact and we could see very different opinions. From the “total, I did not expect anything else«, «Blizzard only thinks about your money«, «this is a minor setback” or even “Blizzard is doing it right«. This last statement caught the attention of El Pergamino and we went to find its author.

Blizzard is doing great, no doubt. He has not presented anything new and yet everyone has talked about the company. It’s a manual win, clearly. The marketing team is doing great, my best to all of them. As head of the Department of Network Logistics, I am very happy with this work and, let’s face it, I get a good pinch, jijijaja (Mary S. Hays, proud of her work)

I can tell you that it is the best tactic we have ever used, and I have been with the company for more than 18 years. We go out on stage, we present two skins from a game, we don’t even remotely talk about World of Warcraft, but they all mention us. We have planned to do the same at the next Gamescom: we will not reveal the date of 9.1, nor will we talk about the future expansion, there will only be a little music, drum roll and 4 skins for OW2! Hahahaha, it’ll be great – confesses Brian C. Beckwith, a blizzard worker (or so he says)

So “less is more.”
And.
