For the 4th year, the island of Bréhat (Côtes-d’Armor) will deliciously swing at the beginning of July 2024 to the rhythm of the Les Scènes de Bréhat festival.
From July 5 to 9, 16 shows are on the bill for this “human-scale” event whose DNA is to celebrate live performance in its multidisciplinarity with music, theater, dance, magic , specifies Caroline Vannini, director of the festival, who unveiled the complete program this Tuesday, April 2.
The headliners are the singers Raphaël, Tété, Alyocha Schneider or the comedian Nora Hamzawi but “all the proposals, even less known, are of quality. We are demanding on the subject, the aesthetics, the scenography.” They will focus on the theme chosen this year: “Life stories”.

“We return under the stars”
Participating in this island festival, in the magical setting of the Verreries de Bréhat, goes beyond, according to her, the simple fact of attending a show.
It’s an experience. We come by boat, we walk around the island, we benefit from privileged links with artists, technicians, volunteers, festival-goers… and we return under the stars to the continent, with stars who exceptionally cross at night until ‘ Arcouest, after the shows.
Caroline Vannini, director of the festival
The formula attracted 3,100 festival-goers last year. “And this year, we are still very happy with the programming” for performances in the privacy of the citadel, in interaction with the artists, the numbers varying from 500 to 650 people depending on the nature of the shows.

Musique
- Raphaël (Tuesday July 9, 10 p.m.) is one of the key guests of the 2024 edition. The artist, who owns a house on the island, will come as a neighbor to close the festival. “He really wanted to participate this year with a concert created for the occasion where he will present his new album.” His eternal Caravan will also be on the trip.
- The singer Tété (Tuesday July 9, 6:15 p.m.), who celebrated the 20th anniversary of his album À la favor de l’Automne in 2023, will introduce his new acoustic opus. As he wishes, on a small stage, in harmony with the audience.
- Thirteen years after the Clair album tour, JP Nataf (Friday July 5, 6:30 p.m.) will reunite with his audience for the opening concert of the festival (guitar/cello), around the repertoire of his two solo albums, released in 2004 and 2009, during the (long) hiatus of his group Les Innocents. In the first part, Sunny Inside and its Neil Young walks.
Humour

- Comedian Nora Hamzawi (Saturday July 6, 8 p.m.), also known for her columns on France Inter, will present her third one woman show, performed this winter at the Folies Bergères in Paris. The stand-up artist will speak with humor and self-deprecation about his forty-something life between work, children and social networks.
- The unspeakable Fred Blin (Monday July 8, 8 p.m.) will border on the absurd and the burlesque with his show Are we always right?, which, according to the festival director, “is more to experience than to tell” .
Theater
- Hatiao Club (Friday July 5, 9:30 p.m.), by the company La leva, a moving and funny play where three children find themselves in the house of their deceased grandmother and discover the little-known life of this free fisherman’s wife.
- Bluebeard’s Women (Monday July 7, 8 p.m.) by the Dinan company 13/31. Director Lisa Guez rewrites the tale of Bluebeard. On stage, full of desire and life, the ghosts of Bluebeard’s women tell us how they were seduced, how they were trapped, how they were unable to escape…
- Monsieur Durand (Tuesday July 9, 8 p.m.), by the Bréhat theater troupe. The play traces the extraordinary investigation of a community in search of its identity through the puzzle of the life of one of its deceased inhabitants.
Late concerts
The late evenings will, like last year, set the citadel on fire. ©mbinoche
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, three late evenings (after 10:30 p.m.) will be festive and should set the citadel on fire.
- Sims & May Din (July 6): a mixed DJ duo, whose compositions flirt with hip-hop, with an electro touch.
- Macadam Crocodile (July 7): Xavier Polycarpe (Gush) and Vincent Brulin (IZIA, Alain Chamfort) have long been on the national and international stages, their reunion sounds like the need to make people dance without strategy, a new-disco jam.

- Rising star of song, the Franco-Canadian, Alyocha Schneider (Monday July 8) will perform his 3rd album in French and very musical. Songs with Anglo-Saxon pop accents, about love, long-distance relationships and desires.
Family shows (5:30 p.m.)
Cell 247, a show with weightless humor! ©DR
- The mishandled concert (Saturday July 6), by the Rennes group “Le banquet Céleste”. This duo of musicians (violin/double bass) but also clowns and singers revisit, with humor and an offbeat spirit, the classics of baroque music.
- The Rempart (July 7), theater of magic, to the discovery of a secret society which guides thoughts that only the power of the imagination, by looking away, can unbewitch.
- Cell 247 (July 8), by the Rennes company Les Plus Hautes Eaux Connues. An astronaut is sent into space to stop an asteroid. He actually realizes that he is being sacrificed… A surprising, tragic and comic spectacle, which pays homage to the power of the imagination.
Two shows will also be scheduled outside the walls. They will a priori be danced…
