Les Primeurs de Castres held three evenings with fifteen artists from 3 to 5 November with the principle of presenting a first album.
“We always choose the artists in concert with our colleagues from Les Primeurs de Massy who are doing a parallel festival at the same time, the programming is identical. It’s our little magic trick. The selection is not easy, you have to be eclectic, build evenings that make sense and photograph the trends of the moment “ explains Olivier Nicaise, director of Bolegason.
In short, we will have pop, electro, R&B … all these urban currents that are difficult to qualify by keeping one foot in the song, in rock … Fifteen artists in three days are many and at the same time very little compared to the density of current music . Olivier Nicaise does not hide it “There is a lot of skimming and artistic choice work. Evenings without theme because we didn’t want to close ourselves so that everyone could find their account again. So that the public can let themselves be carried away by the discovery “.
Scheduling five artists every night is a technical undertaking, so a marquee under the Bolegason is set up to limit waiting times for set changes and alternating concerts.
Who will we listen to? Among others, the young Belgian dandy Pierre de Maere, holder of the Golden Single who begins to enter the great national radio stations with ‘Un jour, je marieai un ange’ “. Julien Granel who has already made a strong impression on the audience since he played all the first parts of Angèle. And finally the young Emma Peters who made herself known during her birth for her Youtube covers of her that got thousands of views. Today she releases a very well written first album and begins to do well: “Here are the three artists who already have good media coverage”, specifies the director of Bolegason.
The stage will welcome Achile “a great artist, one of the first programmed on Primeurs, touched us strongly in his way of writing, in this idea that he has of crossing song and rap. He is a young Brel of modern times. Claire Days who “fascinated us with her pop rock, her writing, her melody and the arrangements between pop and folk”. We will also have the chance to see two young Belgian girls, Juicy, “who have a pretty crazy energy, a decidedly modern music. On stage he is excellent ”.
And then there will be Gwendoline. Attention! the name is misleading. They are two guys quite angry with society and they say it in a somewhat ironic, ironic, sarcastic prose. A beautiful youthful energy on a rock background “…
Les Primeurs promise us beautiful concerts so let yourself be transported, surprised, meet new artists that you will see in preview when they fill the halls in a few months.
