Helen Juren’s debut album, titled The Great Crossings, was released in December. The Langonaises and the Langonais know the singer interpreter, director of choir, but also poet, photographer and actress. Because Helen Juren made many trips to Langogne when she participated in the performances of the Nomades workshop, each summer, with Bruno Hallauer. Her performances were always of a high quality, either as an actress or as a singer and the participation of such a professional motivated all the young actresses and amateur actors who formed the backbone of these traveling shows, entirely written. and designed by the trainees, under the guidance of Professor Bruno Hallauer, himself the author of several pieces.
Everything that Helen Juren touches seems to turn into an o, since these poetic booklets, these photo albums have already been awarded and acclaimed by the critics.
Her fight for the freedom of all women
This album of ten songs, the culmination of several years of work, brings together the singer’s favorite themes, in particular that of the fight for the freedom of all women in the world. She is accompanied on guitar by Thierry Le Pollè as well as by instruments from Africa and Kabylia, and the voices of female choristers who follow her singing and oral expression lessons.
This opus should know a great success for its authenticity, its purity, its fullness, its vibrant and clear sound. Without effect or artifice that would disturb the essentially universal message shouted with power by Helen Juren: “The Woman of the River with the eternal smile despite the tears […]. Born at the time of the great crossings, between the veil and the nudity, between Amazon and liberated woman … “
Magnificent beast of the stage, living her music and her words intensely, Helen Juren takes everyone with her and if you have to go through the great epics of freedom of the century, you might as well listen very attentively to her pure voice and her deep words.
