Les Genêts d’Anglet made a perilous trip last Sunday during the first day of this new N3 season. With real ambitions given the last two rankings (third two years ago and second last year). But Cédric Pardeilhan’s players broke their teeth against the Girondins reserve now coached by Erwan Lannuzel (1-2). “We played a very good team from the Girondins, certainly the best that the Bordelais have lined up since the recovery this summer, with a few players from L2 and a lot of intensity”, noted the coach of the Genêts. “What is regrettable is above all to have given the two goals in the first act. »
Trailing after two avoidable goals before the break, the Genêts reacted, came back into the game but finally lost (1-2). “We were a little inside during this first period” still regretted Cédric Pardeilhan. “We were good in the second half, we had opportunities in addition to the goal we scored, we hit the bar twice. It’s just a shame to have taken these two ”dumb” goals”.
“Not giving goals”
Suddenly, as during the inaugural days of the championships, the winners are at the top, the beaten in the second half of the classification. The Angloy technician is now awaiting a reaction from his players. “We already reacted well in Bordeaux after conceding the two goals, we didn’t fall asleep, we tried to play and we didn’t get angry,” admits Cédric. But the damage was done. “Now it’s our first home game. We have to start moving forward but it won’t be easy against a team experienced in N3 exercises, ”warns the yellow and green coach.
Lège indeed won on the first day last Saturday in the Pyrénées-Orientales (in Argeles, 2-0) and will be a tough opponent. “It’s a serious, solid team, with good players on the sides and who know the N3 well. It won’t be easy, ”conceives Cédric Pardeilhan. His men will indeed have to bounce back very quickly. “We would have liked to start differently but that’s how it is. You will have to take the three points. Already, we will try not to take easy goals. We can concede goals if the team opposite is better than us and has thrown us off balance, but we are not allowed to give up goals, ”continues the Genêts coach. “We had seen things in preparation that we did not find last Sunday in Bordeaux. We know what we have to do. We have to take this game head-on. »
The players have completed three sessions this week in order to react tonight. “We had a good session but also a bad one,” says Cédric. “I know the boys are serious and will do whatever is necessary. Coach Angloy has decided to change his batteries a bit for tonight’s game. The young Léo Caup, Quentin Ranquine and Lilian Laplace-Palette come out of the group. The titular goalkeeper Guillaume Lesec makes his entrance as does Samuel Betina.
