The main camper was once again the moderator Tomáš Zástěra, who not only entertained the children with his radio colleagues all week! And right at the beginning of the week, he arrived to see the children Leoš Mareš a Patrik Hezucky from the Morning Show, which is already entering its 25th season. Leoš recalled his childhood in the camps: “I love camps. I’m a camp kid, spending weeks and weeks every summer at camp and enjoying everything about it – camp games, night fights, basically anything that feels like camp. And I remember that when Europe 2 started doing Summer Camps, maybe the first year I went with the children and the bus, we waited at the meeting point, picked up the children from their parents, I actually started the whole thing and then I spent several nights at the camp.”
Patrik Hezucký also shared his experiences with the camps: “I remember the camps with nostalgia, they were wonderful in that you found a lot of new friends, first loves. Of course, you don’t want to go to camp at first because you know you’ll miss it, and then you don’t want to leave camp. And you miss those friends…”
Moderator Zorka Hejdová enjoys the camps every year: “It’s amazing at Summer Camp. Every year! It always takes me back many years, so to speak, when I went to camp myself as a child and it was the highlight of my holidays and I always looked forward to them. I went until I was 15, we slept in cabins, and the only thing that maybe bothered me about the camps was that they were too short. And I always wore them for two weeks. I always envy the atmosphere of the children here, and sometimes I would like to go back to my childhood thanks to it and enjoy it too.”
The varied program of the Summer Camp was enriched by a private performance Ewa Farnewho celebrated her birthday together with the children at the camp. At the end of the week, he also arrived at the camp Vojtěch Dykwho taught the campers his songs and chatted with them. “The Summer Camps of Europe 2 have a special meaning for us. We are aware of how important our radio is for children and teenagers, so we wanted children to enjoy it and experience it for themselves, experiencing something unique and unforgettable. In addition, thanks to our annual competition for a stay at the camp, the children went to the camp completely free of charge, so we were able to give the opportunity to parents who might not have the financial means to attend another, paid camp. says David Šmídt, director of Europe 2.
