While she is in the middle of her media break, Leontine suddenly appeared on New Year’s Eve in the RTL hit The Masked Singer. She sang the song Womanizer rather appropriately, while moving in a champagne suit. “It has been an eventful year with ups and downs, but now this bottle is bubbling and tingling as usual,” she said disguised.

Uncomfortable
Rob got uneasy feelings about the broadcast. “I have to say that I found it very uncomfortable that Leontine came out of the suit. I also don’t think she would have participated if the recordings had been made after all the news about Marco Borsato had come out. But yes, it was on tape.”
It’s hard to leave the episode on the shelf, says Rob. “You have to do something with it, she did well and I thought it was a nice performance. In that respect, it also took away some of the sharp edges.”
Punishment expressed
It is unclear whether Leontine tried to stop the broadcast. Vivienne van den Assem to Rob: “Do you have the feeling that something has been done with it?”
Rob: “I tried to find that out. Anyway, I thought the hints were crazy. She said at one point: ‘I’ve had a year full of ups and downs, but now it’s going again.’ I thought: I think that is a bit of a punishment if you know what is going on now.”
‘It’s television’
RTL could also have cut it out afterwards. “But I get the impression that they were just like, ‘You know, this is television and we made it that way, so let’s just leave it at that. Of course that can happen.”
