Leonie ter Braak has been financially broke in the past. What the presenter says on Monday The Telegraph.
“As a teenager, I made more money modeling than most adults. In my 20s, the assignments started to dwindle, but I still spent the money at the same rate,” says Ter Braak.
“I was young and brash and never thought my success could be temporary. At 25, I was financially ruined. Suddenly my life looked so much different.”
The 42-year-old presenter and actress “knows like no other what it’s like to know financial prosperity and suddenly lose it” and calls it “a wise lesson at a young age”.
However, Ter Braak has learned from that time. “It’s a cliché, but it really made me realize that money doesn’t buy happiness. When I was low on seeds, I wasn’t suddenly very unhappy. Obviously it caused me a lot of stress. Terrible.”
Ter Braak features prominently in by De Tatta. The comedy film is about a wealthy family who suddenly become penniless. The film will premiere on Thursday.
