Former Dynamo player Viktor Leonenko in an interview with FanDay commented on Ruslan Rotan’s return to the Ukrainian national team Yevhen Konoplyanka
“They are both from the Dnieper! What is Rotan doing there at all? Maybe they will start taking coaches from the second league? Why did it come to this at all? Maybe Biden came to negotiate for Konoplyanka? In general, you need to get into the national team, and not take it there. You understand that it looks stupid that the player of the national team plays little in clubs. But this is Zhenya! He never played anywhere, and the coaches said only good things.
Leonenko does not believe that Konoplyanka will be able to fully compete with younger “collectors”:
