THE ANGELS –
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kawhi Leonard had a triple double, James Harden had 23 points and 10 assists, and the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 127-116 on Tuesday.
It was the Clippers’ first victory in three Los Angeles duels held this season.
Leonard had 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, including three that proved crucial in the fourth quarter when the Clippers were clinging to a narrow lead.
D’Angelo Russell led the Lakers with 27 points and 10 assists. Anthony Davis added 26 points and 12 rebounds, while LeBron James watched from the bench.
James’ condition will be reviewed every day to determine the evolution of a problem in his left ankle. The Clippers were without center Ivica Zubac, who will be out for at least a month due to a strained right calf.
The Lakers’ fourth consecutive loss dropped them below the .500 mark, at 22-23. They had the lead only once, by one point, early in the game.
