(Alliance News) – Leonardo Spa strengthens its cooperation with the United Arab Emirates in the field of cybersecurity by signing a contract aimed at improving the technological capabilities of the country’s secure communications network in the defense sector. The company announced this in a statement on Monday.
“The program,” the statement said, “aims to enhance the UAE’s secure communications and information systems for national security through advanced protection capabilities for strategic applications. The measures taken will consolidate the network and IT security infrastructure , increasing resilience against cyber and physical threats while ensuring the availability, authenticity, integrity and confidentiality of data and services, Leonardo will lead the development and upgrade of the network with cutting-edge technologies, creating an integrated and interoperable system that ensures continuity of operations and ongoing improvements. One of the main focuses of the project will be the development of advanced encryption techniques to ensure the highest security standards in communications and information management.”
The initiative to build national secure communications capacity, launched in 2017, has highlighted the close cooperation between Leonardo and the UAE Armed Forces, further strengthening the partnership and the company’s role as a reliable partner.
Leonardo shares closed on Monday with a gain of 3.2% at EUR 21.06 per share.
