A surname, DiCaprio, coming from the distant (Neapolitan) relatives of his father George. A name, Leonardo, that his mother decided to give him because he, still in her lap, kicked her while she was looking at a painting by Da Vinci in a museum in Italy. On Monday 11 November, that boy with long, thin blue eyes, beloved throughout the planet, turns 50, not only for his acting skills but also for his humanitarian battles, for the climate, for society, for a world free from wars.

#1 – The meeting on the set of Titanic1996
Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet met in 1996 during the filming of the blockbuster film Titanic in which, very young, they played one of the most iconic couples in the history of cinema: the one between Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt Bukater, that is, the two star-crossed lovers on the ocean liner that sank in the freezing waters of the Atlantic Ocean in 1912. The two were not friends before filming, but they knew each other, enough for Kate to set her sights on Leo. In a 1998 interview, the actress admitted: “My God, I wanted Leo to play that part. I thought I would have a hard time concentrating because he is absolutely gorgeous, and I wondered if I could actually like him.”
