Leonardo “Chimmy” Morales hangs up his gloves after 12 years of career

Popular mixed martial arts fighter Leonardo “Chimmy” Morales announced this Friday that he is hanging up his gloves, thus ending his 12-year career inside the octagon.

The athlete spent most of his career outside the borders of Pinoleros and his last fight was against Ileer Bakhtiyar, in which the Nicaraguan unfortunately suffered defeat on a card organized by the international promoter IFafihgting.

His rise to fame

Morales rose to fame when he participated in the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Latinoamericana, where he managed to stand out significantly for his striker style based on Taekwondo, reaching the final of the tournament against the Mexican Yair Rodríguez.

His great performance allowed him to earn a name in the business and thus he had fights in the best MMA promotions throughout Latin America.

“Chimmy'” also fought in his native Nicaragua where he won important victories, training the fighters of the future in his development.

In his adventure through mixed martial arts and during these 12 years inside the octagon, he achieved impressive battles, celebrated victories and tough defeats inside the octagon.
