Right back is 16 years old and plays in the under-17 leonine teams
In 2018/19 he left Benfica for Sporting and this Thursday he signed a professional contract with the lions. Leonardo Barroso, 16-year-old right-back and a young Portuguese international, lived an unforgettable day and promises to continue dreaming.
“My goal is to reach the first team and play at Estádio José Alvalade, as Sporting bets a lot on the formation”, he said in statements to Sporting TV. This season adds four appearances in the youth team, guided by José João, and in the midst of all the happiness he still found the discernment to “thank all the confidence that Sporting and the fans” have placed in him.
When presenting his business card, he defined himself as a “fast player, with a lot of strength and I cross well”, ending with a good example that he intends to follow: “Pedro Porro is also very fast and explosive, he’s a very good player in defensive and offensive terms”.
