“León City Council Adds New Camera for Heritage Protection and Preventing Vandalism on the Wall of León”

LEN, 3 (EUROPA PRESS)

The City Council of León puts into operation a new control and surveillance camera on the wall of León that will serve to protect heritage and prevent vandalism. This new camera, for the control of the wall in Ruiz de Salazar street, joins the 23 teams that have already been renovated in the old town.

The regulations to be able to install them are restrictive and complex due to data protection. These renovated cameras were placed for the first time more than a decade ago with the aim of establishing a continuous surveillance system of the city’s historical and artistic heritage, as well as supporting the security measures established for the area.

Installation has been delayed due to the location of the chamber and the uniqueness of the building, the Palacio de los Guzmanes. These teams are managed by the new Transmission Room of the Local Police of Len, which integrates all the video surveillance, mobility and control systems, the Len City Council has reported in a statement sent to Europa Press.

The supply, for 75,000 euros, includes 24 cameras, 23 to replace the existing ones that had become obsolete and, in some cases, did not work, and the camera in the Palacio de los Guzmanes has been placed to prevent vandalism in the section of wall of Ruiz de Salazar street.

The contract was awarded at the Governing Board held last October as resolution of the contract for the supply of the video surveillance control system, to the company Kapsch Trafficcom Transportation, SAU for an amount of 73,505.30 euros including VAT.
