Both trained at the AXIS, the two boys had to leave for other places to start their professional careers. After leaving in June 2019, Laurent Batlles’ two reserve strongmen find themselves in the first team with the same coach. A story that was probably written. For the Progress, they engaged in a cross interview. Extracts.
Meeting
With the shirt of their favorite club, the two boys met this summer. A joyful moment for the two guys who have never lost contact: “I was lucky enough to stay in a professional establishment. I am very proud of Léo’s career in Andrézieux and Lorient. When I went to see him play he was the same one I saw at Saint-Étienne: always very serious, very consistent. What he did is very strong. He has maintained the same professionalism and the same ambition. We have a group with Hugo Roussey where we talk to each other every day and try to push each other to be successful. We haven’t gone to see him play yet, but we will. “Also, they appreciate the current situation:”Being able to play together is great. Sometimes the stars are aligned. “
An agreed return?
Dylan Chambost states, he did not necessarily work for Petrot’s return despite the interest of ASSE. “No more, honestly. He had many possibilities and I let him make his choice of him. I bothered him a lot by asking him so many questions, I managed to piss him off a bit, but I think the choice of him was already made.“He admits the same as he”hoped to see him return. “
Léo Petrot tells the details behind the scenes I told him when it was done. The choice was always very clear from the moment he called me Saint-Étienne, but we still had to decide. It took some time. The main thing is that I am there. “

A dream come true
The satisfaction of wearing the green jersey according to Dylan Chambost. ” As children, we were supported by ASSE by our brothers, my father who is a huge fan. When you are a child of the Loire, you dream of joining this club. I had the chance to do pre-training, football school. I have always been a fan of this club and have been in the stands many times. I couldn’t refuse the opportunity to return. It is up to us to show what we are worth with this shirt with a lot of desire and pride. “
Léo Petrot reiterates: “It is passed down from generation to generation, even my grandfather went to the final in Glasgow, then my father also became a fan. We are going to the small stage and it makes you dream. We know it is complicated because during training we are told that there will be only two or three players who will become professionals out of a group of thirty. We did a good job even though it took some time. Maybe that was the way to go. When you are a fan of a team, you can only wet the jersey. If we work well in training, we will pay off.“
