Indonesian men’s doubles Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin qualify for the semifinals Hong Kong Open 2023 after defeating German representatives Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel in the quarter-finals, Friday (15/9).
The Leo/Daniel vs Lamfuss/Seidel duel was tight at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Leo/Daniel must play three games in time to ensure a ticket to the semifinals of the Hong Kong Open 2023.
Leo/Daniel lost 18-21 in the first game to Lamfuss/Seidel in a fierce match. The Indonesian men’s doubles threw away an 18-16 lead after Lamfuss/Seidel played an extraordinary game at a crucial moment by winning five points in a row.
In the second game Leo/Daniel did not repeat their mistakes. After winning 11-7 at the interval, Leo/Daniel immediately stepped on the gas and won the second game 21-15.
In the deciding game, Leo/Daniel’s rhythm was maintained. With a fairly big lead, Leo/Daniel eliminated Lamfuss/Seidel after winning 21-14 in the third game.
In the semifinals of Hong Kong Open 2023, Saturday (16/9), Leo/Daniel will face the winner between Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin vs Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin.
