Léo Condé celebrated not only the 3×0 built by Vitória against Ponte Preta, but also the way the team played against the team from São Paulo, this Sunday night (16), in Barradão, in the debut of Série B do Brasileiro. Zeca, Osvaldo and Rodrigo Andrade signed the scoreboard.
“It really was a great game. Not only because of what we did, but also because of the opponents we faced, who value our victory a lot. A great match. We felt and understood the moments of the game. I knew how to score high and low, I knew when to have possession and when to exploit the counterattacks. We managed, after a launch, to score the first goal. Then the second, in an individual play by Osvaldo”, he stated.
Léo Condé admitted that the team dropped in performance in the final stage, but pointed out that the team knew how to reorganize itself on the field. “In the second half we were a little lower, Ponte Preta pushed us into our field and I understood that they needed more mobile players. Thiago and Welder helped and we balanced the game. Ponte Preta had chances, but we also had and scored the third goal . We could do the fourth and fifth. Very positive response”.
Against Ponte Preta, Léo Condé promoted the debut of five of the 12 players hired to reinforce the Red-Black squad in Série B. Lateral Marcelo, defender Wagner Leonardo, midfielder Giovanni Augusto and striker Zé Hugo were starters. Striker Welder entered the second half.
“They debuted very well. It gave balance with the players who were already here. We managed to marry well, we now have a left-handed defender with a good ball output on the left side. Marcelo is a full-back who scores well and has a lot of strength to attack. Zé Hugo, we needed this speed player. Giovanni has dribbling, Welder you already follow, he was doing great Baiano for Jacuipense. They were good debuts and we still have more athlete to debut. The players who were already at the club, we knew that in the training period we would be able to extract more from them”.
Vitória returns to the field next Sunday (23), at 6 pm, when they play their first Serie B game as a visitor, against ABC, at the Frasqueirao stadium, in Natal.
“There is room for the team to grow and evolve. Just the beginning of work after the reformulation that was made. Delivery has to be as it was today, always. There will be adjustments to be made. Much credit to the opponent who has a good set, very well trained by Hélio dos Anjos. A team that led Paulista’s A2, was champion. As much as we had this training period, there were twelve signings. You won’t snap your finger and everything will come out just right. I hope we can , during the course of the competition, come out well balanced”, projected Léo Condé.
