Leo Borg won his first match in an ATP250 event on Tuesday when he beat Elias Ymer 7-6(5), 6-3 in the first round of the Nordea Open.
– It’s just good feelings. I’m very grateful that I got the chance to play here and couldn’t be happier than I am right now. Now I’m going to recharge for the next match, says Leo, who admits that it was nervous going out on the center court.
– There were many thoughts when I went in. I was nervous but tried to enjoy the moment and take in all the emotions. It’s obviously sad to face a Swede in the first round, but I think Elias and I had a good match.
Leo faces Argentina’s Federico Coria (in Sunset Tennis at 9pm on Wednesday night) who knocked out compatriot and last year’s finalist Sebastian Baez in their match.

Dragos Madaras was the third Swede to receive a wild card into the main draw. Dragos, who currently has his highest ATP ranking (191), fell in the first round on Monday after a clearly approved effort despite losing 6-7(2), 4-6 to Luca van Assche. The Frenchman will face reigning champion Francisco Cerundolo from Argentina in the next round.
– He has more experience than me and is ranked higher, but I don’t think it was that bad of me anyway, says Dragos Madaras, who recently reached the record of ten ITF titles in one year.
– I am satisfied with it and will not play any more “futures”. Now there will be challengers and ATP competitions going forward, he says.
In the doubles tournament, Simon Freund and Leo Borg fell late on Monday evening and on Tuesday there was also a pass for the other Swedish doubles pair Filip Bergevi and Dragos Madaras.
