Legendary Björn Borg’s 18-year-old son lost in the third round to the two-year-younger and first-seeded Chinese Shang Juncheng after two hours and 37 minutes of play in Paris.
However, it was close that Borg for the third match in a row turned a set deficit to victory. The Swede lost the first set against Juncheng by 6-7 in tiebreak (5-7), won the second set by 6-3 and then lost the third by 6-7 after tiebreak (4-7).
Earlier in the tournament, tournament debutant Leo Borg defeated Frenchman Max Westphal (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) and German Max Hans Rehberg (1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3).
