Starting signal for the renovation of Sägestrasse in Lenzburg: Work in the Landi section – from the Niederlenzerstrasse junction to the Werkhofstrasse junction – begins on Monday, January 15th. At the same time, an anergy network and a meteor water pipeline will be created. Construction is expected to take place until the end of September 2024.

The trucks are being rerouted

During this period, a one-way regime will be partially in place, the city explains in a press release. Specifically: Trucks are still permitted to travel from the Niederlenzerstrasse junction towards the west, but not in the opposite direction from the Niederlenzer Kirchweg/Sägestrasse roundabout to Niederlenzerstrasse. There is a truck driving ban. From the roundabout there is a signposted detour to the motorway via Ringstrasse Nord and Ringstrasse West to Aarauerstrasse.

There will be diversions during the construction phase.

According to a press release, cars and motorcycles can still drive through Sägestrasse in oncoming traffic. The exit to Niederlenzerstrasse is via Werkhofstrasse and Merkurstrasse. The city notes that access to private properties will also be guaranteed. “Depending on the situation, the exits are signaled with a ban on left or right turns. Due to the construction work, waiting times are to be expected.” A separate diversion will be signaled for pedestrian and bicycle traffic.

The credit increased for the 30 km/h zone

The loan of 293,000 francs for the renovation of Sägestrasse with the adjustment of the pedestrian and cycle path crossing was discussed in the residents’ council last September. Upon request, the amount was increased by 28,000 francs in order to also introduce a 30 km/h zone. The loan of 430,000 francs for the new construction of the Meteor water pipeline was also clearly approved at the meeting.

Today the saw road is in poor condition and has cracks and potholes. The plan is to replace the road surface and the foundation layer, and to create sidewalks and a central island in the area of the Werkhofstrasse junction. (isn’t)
