Lent begins: Archdiocese of Chicago prepares celebration of Ash Wednesday; In addition to the parishes, it has other locations | Univision Chicago WGBO

The Archdiocese of Chicago prepares for the ash wednesday celebration for the faithful in Cook and Lake counties.

The leadership of the Chicago Catholic Church reported that the faithful will be able to take the ashes in county parishes. Furthermore, he pointed out that modules will be available in Chicago at the stations of the CTA Line L and local airports.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lenta period that according to the Archdiocese is to reflect, pray and fast, before the arrival of Easter.

Tradition dictates that the ashes be applied in the form of a cross on the forehead of the faithful, while the minister repeats the words ” dust you are and to dust you shall return“.
