Lenovo Unveils Robotic Dog Daystar Bot GS with Six Legs: Why It Needs Extra Limbs

The company explained why Robops needs two extra limbs.

The well-known company Lenovo first entered the robotics market and presented his debut robot dog named Daystar Bot GS. The main feature of the machine is its six paws (three on each side).

Extra paws allow the dog to be more stable, fast and maneuverable.

The innovative six-legged design provides unmatched stability and agility superior to traditional robotic platforms, allowing the robot to easily traverse a variety of terrain.

Daystar Bot GS is intended to be used in more severe conditions than conventional robotic dogs. For example, a new product from Lenovo will be able to work as a security guard in government agencies, as well as help specialists in search and rescue work or replace guide dogs.

The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the characteristics. We only know that the robot’s body is not afraid of water or sand; there are several fasteners on top that allow you to attach various modules to the dog (lidars, cameras, projectors, manipulators, etc.).

Lenovo Daystar Bot GS will be released during 2024. Closer to the start of sales, the company will announce the prices of the “six-legged miracle.”

Earlier, another robotic dog set a world record in the 100-meter run.
