Lenovo Unveils Laptop That Can Become Switch-Like Game Console | NOW

Computer manufacturer Lenovo has presented a new breed of laptop that can turn into a handheld game console, reports PCMag.

The Lavie Mini Laptop has an 8-inch screen and a keyboard that can be pushed back. This turns the device into a small tablet.

Then two controller halves can be attached to the sides of the screen, so that the laptop can be used as a game console. The design is reminiscent of the Nintendo Switch, where controllers click to the screen in a similar way.

The laptop was developed in collaboration with the Japanese NEC and has an Intel Core i7 processor. This has a built-in graphics chip. In addition, the device includes 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD storage.

Because the Lavie Mini Laptop is strictly a Windows computer, it can play many games that previously appeared on PC. Which games it runs depends on the system requirements of each title.

Details about laptop are still scarce

Lenovo has not yet disclosed further details about the gaming laptop. For example, it is unclear on what term and in which countries it will be sold.

The laptop maker will probably announce more during the gadget fair CES next week. This normally takes place in Las Vegas, but will be organized digitally this year due to the corona virus.
