Lenovo plans to show a laptop with a transparent screen soon. Windows Report has managed to get its hands on product images of a laptop with a transparent screen, which LG already showed during the CES trade fair.
Windows Report writes that Lenovo wants to show the transparent laptop during Mobile World Congress. The smartphone fair will take place in Barcelona at the end of this month.
Details about the laptop are still scarce, but Windows Report has managed to get its hands on images. It shows that the device has a screen without bezels. The model does have a bar under the screen in which the components are concealed. The laptop also looks a lot like Lenovo’s laptops with dual screens, where the bottom screen can work as a touchscreen keyboard. Images of the laptop closed show the screen being completely transparent.
Further details such as specifications are still missing. Windows Report only writes that the device runs on Windows 11. It is also not known what kind of display it will be, but LG already showed transparent OLED televisions at the CES fair earlier this year. The company wants to release it this year, after already showing such prototypes of transparent displays last year. But for that television it is necessary to pull up a screen when watching so that the contrast of the OLED panel can be seen. It is not clear whether the laptop should also have such a system and if so, what it will look like in practice. The Lenovo laptop may get a display from that manufacturer.
Correction: the article initially said that Lenovo showed a transparent screen at CES, but that was LG.
