Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 combines a Windows laptop chassis with a 14-inch Android tablet
Windows and Android hybrid devices that have been extinct for a long time in my mind (the last one I can think of isASUS Transformer Book Trio TX201) reappears at CES 2024! On ThinkBook Plus Gen 5, Lenovo relies on a split design to combine these two systems.
At first glance, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 looks like an ordinary convertible laptop. But when you remove the screen part, a 14-inch Android tablet will appear in your hands. The remaining chassis can still be used as an ordinary Windows PC with an external screen (of course the screen needs to be prepared separately). The Android tablet uses a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, 12GB RAM, a 38Whr battery and a 2.8K OLED screen. It has a 13MP plus 5MP dual camera on the back and an FHD infrared camera on the front for authentication and login.

After detaching the tablet, it can switch to the Android system instantly, and it will take 1 to 2 seconds to change back to the Windows screen. Due to the poor network environment at CES, the drawing tablet function was not connected smoothly. It is also a pity that the device only has two Thunderbolt 4 ports besides the 3.5mm headphone jack, and the key travel of the keyboard is also a bit shallow.
