The capacity of the device, designed for recharging laptops via the USB Type-C connector, is 20,000 mAh. The device’s internal screws may become loose, which could cause the lithium-ion battery to short out and overheat, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The recall includes Lenovo PBLG2W external batteries manufactured between January and June 2022 with lot number 40ALLG2WWW due to the risk of fire. This information can be found on the back of the device.

About 2,850 units of this battery are subject to recall.

Power bank owners were advised to stop using it and also contact the manufacturer, for example, via email [email protected] or through a special page the Lenovo sitein order to exchange the product free of charge for a new one in which the defect has been eliminated.
