Lenovo comes with new workstation ThinkStation P620

Lenovo unveils the new ThinkStation P620, a single-socket workstation featuring AMD’s new Ryzen Threadripper Pro CPU. This Thinkstation is the first 64-core workstation on the market.

Of Threadripper Pro-CPU offers speeds up to 4 GHz, contains 128 PCIe lanes and eight memory channels. In addition to the powerful CPU, the ThinkStation P620 also offers flexible GPU configurations, which support two Nvidia Quadro RTX 8000 or four RTX 4000 graphics cards.

Of ThinkStation P620 comes with up to 1 TB of memory and 20 TB of storage. It would also be the only PCIe Gen 4-workstation and offers twice the bandwidth of PCIe 3.0. The design of the CPU also makes higher thermal demands. In that area, Lenovo has partnered with AMD to build a custom heatsink to meet these requirements.

Additional functions

With the new CPU from AMD Customers also get security features like AMD Secure Processor, the feature that checks code before it is executed, and AMD Memory Guard for full memory encryption. The CPU also comes with AMD PRO Manageability which allows for features such as updates and repairs remotely.
