Werne. With his goal to make the final score 1:1 (0:1) against RHTC Rheine II, young player Lennard Linnenlücke saved the TV Werne hockey men from their third defeat in a row.
TVW went into the second home game of the season with the burden of two significant defeats (0:4 against Bochum HV and 1:9 at TV Jahn Hiesfeld).
In an uneventful encounter, the guests deservedly took a 1-0 lead. The hosts rarely took dangerous actions in the opposing circle.
In the second half, the team around captain Alexander Osterkemper acted more courageously – and was finally rewarded with the equalizer from Lennard Linnenlücke. The A-youth pushed the ball over the goal line in a confusing situation.
Both teams didn’t risk much in the final phase, scenes in the respective shooting circles remained in short supply, so Werne and Rheine separated with a performance-based draw.
Next Sunday (start: 6 p.m., Lindert sports center), TV Werne will host Buerscher HC, the bottom team with no points. The Gelsenkirchen team has already conceded 41 goals in four matches. A win for the fifth-placed team from Lippestadt is essential in order to get back on the road to success after three games without winning three points.
