The Cuban reggaeton player Lenier Mesa had a meeting with a true music great, the Puerto Rican salsa singer Marc Anthony, with whom he has worked in recent months.
Through her social networks, Mesa shared the coexistence she had with Jennifer López’s ex-husband, for whom she composed some of the songs on her new album, Move.
The Puerto Rican’s fifteenth album comes as a festive combination of various musical genres, from bachata, to urban, salsa and tropical rhythms, and an exploration of his career, in a trajectory of more than 30 years of music.
The album, which is a set of 10 songs in Spanish, celebrates Latin diversity, and returns to his Puerto Rican origins with a vibe of warmth and substance that only Latinos understand, and that Mesa helped him achieve with moving and fiery rhythms.
“Thanks to Marc Anthony for letting me be part of this album. Let’s go up,” Lenier wrote on her Instagram, along with a video in which she is seen hugging Anthony.
For the singer’s new album Now whoMesa made the new song Punta Canathe first collaboration of the Puerto Rican with the Mexican Pepe Aguilar, a combination of tropical and ranchero.
The truth is that, despite his numerous controversies, Lenier Mesa has already stood out as a composer before, and specifically with Marc Anthony he has been able to show his skills in this field, taking him to the Grammy for Best Tropical Album in 2023 with Pa’lla I go.
On that album, four of the nine songs that make it up were co-written between Marc and Lenier: Bad, Love Has No Sex, Gimme Some More and the one that gives its name to the album.
